Donna Goodhart
Donna studied studio art and French in college, and subsequently began working with a faux-stone process called hypertufa. Hypertufa originated in England near the turn of the century and was used for making alpine garden troughs. It also lends itself well to sculpting and carving. Donna's particular area of creative energy focuses on the many aspects and faces of the Goddess. The lack of powerful divine images in our culture has inspired her to research ancient and contemporary cultures that celebrate and worship the feminine aspect of the divine. Civilizations that revered the earth as our mother and women as the embodiment of the sacred did not view themselves as separate from the environment. Women served to preserve the sanctity of the bond.
Donna believes it is the responsibility of the conscientious artists and icon makers to offer and sustain new symbols of positive female power.
