Lynn Rae Lowe
Lynn is the winner of the 1998 Niche Magazine Award for Judaica Art for her "Festival of Lights" Menorah.
Lowe combines numerous cultural icons - from Southwest, Native American and Greek art to Judaism to Egyptian-inspired triangular shapes and mummylike figures - with a smattering of her own contemporary vision to create what the artist call her "iconoglyphic" style.
"I am very much involved in myth and ritual," Lowe says. "It makes little difference to me which culture spawned the myth, because when you study it, you find that the myths and the symbols are universal."
