Kyrie Eleison Cross

A perfect spiritual reminder for just about any area of your home, this simple, hand-made wood cross is covered by a vividly detailed reproduction of the artist's original Christian artwork, which was inspired through prayer and meditation. The cross is cut from white pine and features on its back an interpretive prayer written by the artist.
About the artist:
Melanie Twelves regards the images she incorporates into her art as gifts from God. "Most of my images are life giving and I began to realize that when my life was most chaotic, God gave to me the most peaceful images." The images also have very specific meanings to Melanie. The image of the upside down heart, for example, symbolizes the openness of God's love pouring forth, while the image of two angels represent God's constant protection and grace. Notwithstanding her own interpretations, Melanie wants others to develop their own ideas. "Several symbols that appear often in my work may need my interpretation, but I hope the viewer will find his or her own."
As with her images, the titles of Melanie's works are also given to her by God through meditation and prayer. Melanie feels called upon to "glorify God in a simple, direct and personal way." "If I were to describe my work in totality, including all my journals and finished art pieces, I would give it the title, A Love Affair with God."
A resident of Oklahoma, Melanie holds a BA in Art from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
