A note about the process of fusing glass --
The art of fusing glass dates back 4000 years to the Middle East. Each of these custom designed pieces is cut, and then fired in a kiln at 1400 degrees Farenheit, at which temperature the pieces of glass literally fuse. The edges round, and the surfaces take on a brillant gloss.
Variations are both the nature of the glass and of the handmade process.
